The wait is over for thousands of teacher aspirants in Assam. The State Level Empowered Committee, Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), Government of Assam has declared the Special Assam TET Result 2026 for Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) levels. Scorecards have been available online since 11 AM on Friday, 7 November 2026, through the official website of the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), Division-I, formerly SEBA.
This result covers candidates who appeared for the Special TET in the Bodo, Garo, Manipuri and Hmar mediums. The written examination was held on 28 June 2026.
Who this result is for
The Special Assam TET 2026 was conducted in two papers. Paper I is for Lower Primary, covering Classes I to V, while Paper II is for Upper Primary, covering Classes VI to VIII. Both papers were held for candidates belonging to the Bodo, Garo, Manipuri and Hmar language mediums, and the result declared on 7 November covers both levels.
It is important to be clear about what qualifying means. Clearing the TET does not by itself give a candidate a teaching job. It makes the candidate eligible to apply for teacher recruitment in elementary schools of Assam, which the government notifies separately. In other words, the TET certificate is the eligibility proof; the actual appointment comes through a later recruitment process.
Qualifying marks: what you needed to pass
The qualifying marks for the Special Assam TET 2026 were fixed in advance, and candidates had to clear two conditions at the same time. A candidate who missed either one is not treated as TET qualified, even if the total score looks comfortable.
- General category: 90 marks out of 150 in total (60 percent), and 18 marks out of 30 in Language-1 (60 percent).
- SC, ST (P), ST (H), OBC, MOBC and PWD categories: 83 marks out of 150 in total (55 percent), and 15 marks out of 30 in Language-1 (50 percent).
Both conditions must be met together. For example, a General category candidate who scored 95 in total but only 16 in Language-1 would not qualify, because the Language-1 bar of 18 marks was not crossed. Candidates should check both figures on their scorecard before drawing any conclusion.
How to check the Assam TET Result 2026
The result is available only through individual login. No roll-number list or merit list has been published, so candidates cannot simply search for their name in a PDF. Keep the Application Number and Password used in the application form ready, the same credentials used to download the admit card.
- Open the official website of ASSEB, Division-I.
- Look for the Special Assam TET Result 2026 link on the homepage.
- Enter your Application Number and Password and submit.
- Your scorecard will appear on screen. Check your name, paper, section-wise marks, total marks and qualifying status.
- Download the scorecard and keep a printout for future recruitment rounds.
The scorecard shows the candidate’s name, paper, section-wise marks, total marks and qualifying status. Candidates should verify every detail on it. If anything looks wrong, or if the login itself fails, the board has provided a toll-free helpline, 08042303631, which works from 10 AM to 5 PM on working days. There is also a forgot-password option on the portal for candidates who cannot recall their credentials.
What the result means, and what comes next
The results are provisional. They remain subject to fulfilment of the eligibility conditions in the original advertisement and verification of the documents and declarations submitted by candidates. That is standard for a TET result, but it means candidates should keep their certificates and documents ready for verification when recruitment begins.
One reassuring detail for those who qualified: the TET certificate is valid for a lifetime, unless the government notifies otherwise. There is no expiry date hanging over it, so candidates who clear this round can use the qualification for future teacher recruitment drives as well.
For now, the next step is simple. Download the scorecard, confirm the qualifying status, and keep it safe. The recruitment notifications that follow will ask for it, and candidates who cleared the test in the Bodo, Garo, Manipuri or Hmar mediums will be watching for elementary school teacher vacancies in their respective language streams.
