Dombivli: A horrific incident of building collapse has taken place at Dombivli East, which, other than sending shockwaves among the entire local community, has cast them into absolute disbelief. The residential structure, called Adinarayan Bhuvan, has come down with devastating force, taking along one precious life with it. It is believed that two more people are stuck under the wreckage and debris on the site where the building, earlier declared hazardous by the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC), came crashing down.
The local authorities have confirmed one major incident of building collapse that occurred during the evening hours at Ayre Gaon/village. Fire brigades and other disaster management teams immediately, after the unfortunate incident, reached the spot to assess the situation and right away started the rescue operation without wasting any time. At least up to this time, it has been confirmed that one individual lost his life, while continuous efforts are being made for more persons who remain missing from this devastating event.
Witness accounts have revealed they had been hearing a very loud and uneasy rumbling noise only moments earlier before the structure collapsed to the ground tragically. The very particular building was already surveyed and marked by the KDMC as unfit to live in, while running under unauthorized status. It raised some very serious questions regarding the adequacy of preventive measures for such situations. The municipal commissioner is duelly overseeing the rescue operations going on since then, and other investigations are taking place regarding the happenings of this incident.
