The Diwali weekend has brought a proper feast for streamers. Eight new films and shows have landed on OTT platforms this week, between November 2 and 8, and the pick of the lot arrived on Friday, November 6. Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are back together in Haiwaan on SonyLIV, while Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia headline a folk thriller, The Vvaan: Force of the Forest, on Prime Video.
From Hindi thrillers to Malayalam action and Tamil musical drama, the line-up cuts across languages and genres. Here is what is new and where to watch it.
Haiwaan leads the pack on SonyLIV
Haiwaan is the biggest streaming arrival of the week, and it comes with a fair bit of history attached. Directed by Priyadarshan, the crime thriller brings Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan together on screen for the first time in 18 years, since Tashan in 2008. It began streaming on SonyLIV on Friday, November 6, eight weeks after its theatrical release on September 11.
Saif plays Shyam Rane, a visually impaired martial arts expert who works as a lift operator. When his former mentor, a retired judge, is murdered, Shyam becomes the prime suspect. He must clear his name and protect the judge’s daughter while tracking down Parshuram Gokhale, played by Akshay Kumar. The film is a Hindi remake of the 2016 Malayalam thriller Oppam, and also features Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher, with a special appearance by Mohanlal.
The Vvaan brings folk horror to Prime Video
Also arriving on November 6 is The Vvaan: Force of the Forest, a Hindi fantasy thriller starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia. Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, it follows Rishi, who returns to his ancestral village and breaks an ancient seal in a forbidden forest, unleashing supernatural forces rooted in local folklore, with Chhath Puja forming an important part of the setting. It is on Amazon Prime Video through its rental service first, and is expected to reach Prime subscribers later in November.
Regional picks: I’m Game and Meesaya Murukku 2
The southern industries have not been left behind. Dulquer Salmaan’s Malayalam action thriller I’m Game arrived on JioHotstar on November 6. Directed by Nahas Hidhayath, it follows Dan John, a wealthy man drawn to
gambling, whose life spirals into a world of betting and criminal rivalries. Kayadu Lohar, Antony Varghese and Mysskin also feature in the cast. On the same day, Tamil musical drama Meesaya Murukku 2 landed on SonyLIV. Hiphop Tamizha Adhi returns as an aspiring musician chasing his dream beyond his hometown, with Ketika Sharma, Chaithra J. Achar, Harshath Khan, Karunas and Nassar in supporting roles. Dubbed versions in several Indian languages are part of the release.

What arrived earlier in the week
The week started quietly and built up to Friday. Minions and Monsters, an animated family comedy, arrived on JioHotstar on November 2, with a Telugu-dubbed version also listed. Resident Evil joined Prime Video’s rental catalogue on November 3. Blind Game came to ZEE5 on November 4: Arjun Rampal and Priyamani headline the crime thriller, directed by the late Sangeeth Sivan, about a suspended police officer pulled into an investigation around missing money. The film draws on the Malayalam thriller 7th Day.
Then on November 5, Netflix added Dilwali Diwali, a Hindi family drama starring Mihir Ahuja, Manoj Pahwa and Neelu Kohli. It follows Ansh Sikka, who returns to India after living abroad and surprises his parents with a new apartment, only to find that leaving their old home is harder than any of them expected.
