Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1 is turning its opening weekend into a record run. Three days after hitting cinemas on November 5, the Ranbir Kapoor and Yash starrer has collected Rs 375.50 crore gross worldwide, and trade watchers say the Rs 400 crore mark could fall as early as today, Sunday, November 8, which is also Diwali day.
The film’s India net collection after three days stands at Rs 182.70 crore, according to early estimates from Sacnilk, while the worldwide gross of Rs 375.50 crore puts it among the fastest Indian films ever to reach that mark.
Saturday beats opening day
The biggest surprise of the weekend came on Saturday, November 7. Day 3 collections of Rs 69.80 crore net in India were higher than the opening day figure of Rs 64.85 crore, a rare pattern for a big release. Day 2 had brought in Rs 48.05 crore net.
Saturday’s gross in India stood at Rs 83.45 crore. The film played across 23,696 shows on the day and recorded an overall occupancy of 41.3 percent, showing that demand picked up through the weekend rather than fading after the first rush.
Trade analysts say the jump is a strong sign of word of mouth. Big films usually see their biggest day on Friday and then settle down. Here, the third day out-earned the first, which suggests audiences who waited for early reactions decided to book over the weekend.

Hindi leads, south markets hold steady
Hindi remains the biggest contributor by a wide margin. The Hindi version earned Rs 53 crore net on Day 3 from 19,927 shows, taking its three-day Hindi total to Rs 136 crore.
The southern versions have added steadily to the total. On Day 3, Kannada contributed Rs 6.30 crore, Telugu Rs 6 crore, Tamil Rs 2.50 crore and Malayalam Rs 2 crore, as per Sacnilk estimates.
The spread across languages matters because Ramayana was planned as a pan-India release from the start. The numbers show it is drawing audiences in every market, not just in the Hindi belt.
Overseas run adds Rs 157.25 crore
The film has been just as strong outside India. It collected Rs 60 crore gross overseas on Day 3 alone, taking its international total to Rs 157.25 crore after three days.
Combined with the India gross of Rs 218.25 crore, the worldwide gross now stands at Rs 375.50 crore. North America has led the overseas charge, and the film crossed the 10 million dollar mark internationally within its first two days.
Sunday advance bookings point higher
If advance bookings are any guide, Sunday could be even bigger. The film has already recorded Rs 39.10 crore gross in advance bookings for Day 4, with 12.02 lakh tickets sold across 23,061 shows. Excluding block seats, the advance figure stands at Rs 33.73 crore.
Bengaluru leads the advance chart with Rs 6.52 crore gross, followed by Mumbai at Rs 4.03 crore and Hyderabad at Rs 2.55 crore. Chennai, Kolkata, Pune and Ahmedabad also feature among the top markets.
By language, Hindi accounts for Rs 25.15 crore, or 66 percent, of Sunday’s advance gross. Kannada follows with Rs 4.38 crore, Telugu with Rs 4.19 crore, Tamil with Rs 2.47 crore and Malayalam with Rs 2.01 crore.
With Diwali falling on Sunday this year, exhibitors expect family audiences to fill shows through the day. A strong Sunday would take the film past Rs 400 crore worldwide within its first four days.
Makers warn against piracy
Even as the box office numbers climb, the makers have moved firmly against piracy. Team Ramayana shared a legal notice on the film’s Instagram handle, warning that unauthorised recording inside theatres and its circulation on social media and messaging platforms will invite action.
The notice points to orders of the Bombay High Court dated November 2 and November 6, 2026, in commercial IP suit (l) no. 37230 of 2026, which restrain all persons from recording, uploading or sharing the film or any part of it without authorisation. Offenders can face criminal, civil and contempt proceedings, the notice says.
Ramayana: Part 1 stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita and Yash as Ravana. It is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash. The second part is scheduled to reach cinemas on Diwali 2028.
