The wait is almost over for lottery ticket holders across Kerala. The Suvarna Keralam SK-74 draw, this week’s Friday special from the Kerala State Lotteries Department, takes place today, October 23, at 3 PM in Thiruvananthapuram, with a first prize of Rs 1 crore on the line. Thousands of participants who bought tickets this week will know their fate by this evening, when the department releases the complete list of winning numbers.
The draw is one of the most followed weekly events in the state. Unlike the daily draws that come and go quietly, the Friday lottery draws a steady crowd, both at the venue and online, as ticket holders refresh result pages through the afternoon. This week’s draw number, SK-74, follows the SK-73 draw held last Friday, October 16.
SK-74 draw time and venue
The Suvarna Keralam SK-74 draw begins at 3 PM today at Gorky Bhavan, near Bakery Junction in Thiruvananthapuram. The draw is conducted by the Kerala State Lotteries Department under the supervision of state authorities, which is how the department keeps the process transparent and above board.
The first few winning numbers usually surface through the live draw broadcast in the afternoon, but the full, verified list takes longer. Going by recent weeks, the official result sheet is typically published between 4:05 PM and 4:50 PM, so ticket holders should expect the complete SK-74 list by early evening.
Prize structure
Suvarna Keralam is known for its headline first prize of Rs 1 crore, which is the main reason the Friday draw attracts such attention. Beyond the jackpot, the lottery carries multiple prize categories, including a second prize, a third prize, consolation prizes for tickets bearing the same number as the first-prize winner in other series, and several lower-tier prizes. The exact prize chart for SK-74 will be printed alongside the official result sheet released by the department this evening.
How to check the Suvarna Keralam SK-74 result
Once the draw concludes, ticket holders have a few reliable ways to verify their numbers:
- Official result portal: The Kerala State Lotteries Department publishes the winning numbers on its official result portal, keralalotteries.com, where the downloadable result PDF is made available.
- Authorised lottery outlets: Retail agents across the state put up the result sheet once it is released.
- Result gazette: The department’s published result PDF remains the official reference. If any preliminary report and the gazette differ, the department’s list prevails.
A word of caution that applies every week: verify your ticket only against the official list. Screenshots and forwarded messages on social media often carry old or edited numbers, so take a minute to match your ticket number digit by digit against the PDF before celebrating or discarding the ticket.
What winners should do next
If your number appears in the SK-74 list, preserve the original ticket carefully. Damaged, torn or altered tickets can be rejected at the time of the prize claim, and that is a heartbreak nobody needs. Smaller prizes can usually be claimed through authorised agents, while the bigger prizes, including the Rs 1 crore first prize, have to be claimed from the department’s offices with the original ticket, identity proof and the claim form.
Kerala lottery rules require winners to claim their prize within 30 days of the draw, so do not sit on a winning ticket. A 30 percent tax deduction applies to winnings above Rs 10,000, which is standard across Indian lotteries.
Yesterday’s result for context
For those keeping track of the weekly cycle, yesterday’s draw was Karunya Plus KN-646, held on Thursday, October 22. Its Rs 1 crore first prize went to ticket number PR 328935, with the consolation prize of Rs 5,000 going to the same number in every other series. Today’s Suvarna Keralam SK-74 is the next draw in the sequence, and tomorrow, October 24, the Karunya KR-773 draw takes its turn.
