Nirbhay Thacker is a 16-year-old genius who has achieved an incredible feat of completing his engineering degree at the age of 15. He is one of the youngest engineers in the world and has inspired many people with his extraordinary skills. He is also a son of an engineer father and a doctor mother.
How did he do it?
Nirbhay Thacker was born in 2002 in Bhuj, Gujarat. He did his schooling under International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) which permits fast learners to complete schooling in a short time. His case also garnered approval from the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) and the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). This way, he got admission to the SAL College of Engineering.
Before taking up BE, Nirbhay took just six months to pass classes 8-10 and then just 3 months for 11, 12 standards in the academic year 2015-16. Nirbhay was 13 when he completed his HSC. Later, he became Gujarat’s youngest engineer at just 15. He had appeared for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) and secured 75/360. He got his engineering degree from GTU at 15 in 2017.
What are his future plans?
Nirbhay Thacker has not stopped there. He is now pursuing his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin, USA. He is interested in developing a social website like Facebook as Mark Zuckerberg is his favourite idol. He also wants to contribute to the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
He has also participated in various competitions and events such as Google Code Jam, Microsoft Imagine Cup, Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, etc. He has won several awards and recognitions for his innovative projects and ideas.
