Air India has given its long-haul journey a distinctly Indian makeover. The airline has unveiled a new collection of premium amenity kits and loungewear for international flights, created with luxury Ayurvedic brand Forest Essentials, and the details reach well beyond a fresh pouch and a new pair of socks.
The collection was revealed on October 27, 2026, and will roll out from October 2026 on flights of more than eight hours, and on overnight flights of more than six hours. First Class, Business Class and Premium Economy passengers will get the new kits, while the loungewear is for First and Business Class guests.
First Class: Gond art takes centre stage
The First Class kit belongs to a collection called The Art of Flight. Each kit features original artwork created exclusively for Air India by Gond artist Dwarka Paraste, with motifs drawn from nature, movement and discovery.
The colour changes with the direction of travel. Passengers leaving India will receive an Ivory Cream kit, while those flying into India will get an Antique White kit. Air India plans to refresh the artwork and colour palette every six months, so the kits are meant to become a collectible series rather than a one-off design.
Inside a satin pouch, the kit holds Forest Essentials skincare and fragrance, including Light Day Lotion with SPF 30, Facial Tonic Mist, Lip Cream, Ultra-Rich Body Milk and intense perfume. Socks, an eye mask, ear plugs, a dental kit, a hair tie and a story card explaining the artwork complete the set.
Business Class: nine colours of the Navratna
Business Class passengers will receive kits from the Navratna Collection, inspired by the nine gems of Indian tradition and built around a palette of nine colours.
The kit comes in a Jharoka-shaped bag made from premium PU leather. The colour again depends on direction: Coral for departures from India and Ruby for arrivals. Inside, a satin pouch holds Forest Essentials Lip Cream, Ultra-Rich Body Milk and intense perfume, along with socks, an eye mask, ear plugs, a dental kit, a hair tie and a story card.
Both First and Business Class kits include a handcrafted Ayurvedic Marma massager made from 100 percent natural wood. Air India describes it as a first-of-its-kind addition to an airline amenity kit, and a dedicated story card explains the wellness tradition behind it.
Premium Economy is included too
Premium Economy has not been left out. Passengers in the cabin will receive a reusable Air India-branded bag containing The Indian Apothecary hand cream and lip balm, plus socks, an eye mask and a story card.

Loungewear inspired by Kullu weaving
The new loungewear draws on the Kullu craft and shawl-weaving tradition of Himachal Pradesh. Subtle woven geometric detailing appears on the placket and hem of a Henley-style top, with matching details on the drawstring and side placket of the bottoms.
The collection is gender-neutral, with soft fabric, a relaxed silhouette and understated Air India branding. It will be offered in four sizes, including a newly introduced XXL, giving more passengers a comfortable fit. Each set comes in a bespoke carry bag with a story card celebrating Kullu craftsmanship. Air India is also changing its carpet slippers from grey to beige to match the new loungewear palette.
Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Air India, said the new kits and loungewear were designed to go beyond functionality, weaving together India’s traditions of art, craftsmanship and wellness with the expectations of the modern global traveller. The aim, he said, is to let guests take a meaningful piece of India with them wherever they travel.
What it means for passengers
For travellers, the practical test will be comfort on a long night flight: whether the skincare feels right at altitude, whether the eye mask actually blocks light, and whether the loungewear is easy to change into in a small cabin.
- Who gets what: First, Business and Premium Economy get new kits; loungewear is for First and Business Class only.
- When: From October 2026, on flights over eight hours and overnight flights over six hours.
- What is new: Gond art, Navratna colours, Forest Essentials products, a wooden Marma massager and Kullu-inspired loungewear.
- What to keep: The kits are reusable, and the First Class artwork will change every six months.
Air India is in the middle of a wider transformation, and small, visible touches like this shape how passengers remember a flight.
