OnePlus has taken the wraps off two phones built first for long gaming sessions and second for everything else. The OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro were launched in China on Thursday, October 29, and both pack a 9,000mAh battery, a 200-megapixel main camera and a display that can refresh at up to 185Hz in supported games. Sales in China begin on November 3 through the Oppo online store.
The headline is the battery. At 9,000mAh, it is well above what most flagship phones offer today, and OnePlus pairs it with 100W wired fast charging. A big battery means fewer breaks in the middle of a match, and fast charging means the phone does not need to sit plugged in for long when it does run low.
There is no confirmed India launch yet. Reports have tipped that one model could arrive as the OnePlus 16R at Rs 70,000 to Rs 75,000, but that is unconfirmed speculation until OnePlus says something official.
Two phones, one gaming brief
The Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro share most of their spec sheet. Both get a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display (up to 165Hz, 185Hz in supported games), Android 17 with ColorOS 17, a 200-megapixel main camera, a 16-megapixel front camera and an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Both support 100W SuperVOOC charging, bypass charging and wired reverse charging.
Bypass charging is a small detail gamers will notice. It lets the phone draw power straight from the cable while gaming, so the battery heats up less during a long session.
The differences sit where OnePlus usually draws the line between a standard model and a Pro. The Ace 7 Pro gets the full Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, while the Ace 7 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5V, a related version of the same platform. On cameras, the Pro adds a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom. The standard Ace 7 instead gets an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. Both phones shoot 4K video at 60 frames per second.
The cooling fan is the talking point
The most unusual part of the launch is the cooling hardware. The Ace 7 series has a built-in active cooling fan with a dual-path airflow system. One path directs air toward the chipset, the other moves cooler air across the back panel so the phone stays comfortable to hold.
OnePlus claims the system can keep temperatures 6.8 degrees Celsius lower when gaming in a floating window while watching a livestream, and 4.9 degrees lower during video calls in hot conditions. Those are company claims from its own testing, not independent results. Still, a fan inside a phone is rare, and it shows how far OnePlus will go to keep frame rates steady instead of letting the chip throttle when it gets hot.
Price in China, and what it could mean for India
In China, the Ace 7 starts at CNY 4,399, roughly Rs 63,000, for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Higher configurations go up to CNY 5,699, about Rs 81,000, for 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. The Ace 7 Pro starts at CNY 4,799, roughly Rs 69,000, for the same base configuration, and tops out at CNY 7,299, about Rs 1.04 lakh, for 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.
Those converted figures are only a rough guide. The earlier OnePlus 15R, the India version of an Ace series phone, launched in India at Rs 59,999, so expect pricing against other performance phones in the Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000 bracket rather than a straight currency conversion.

Who should pay attention
For mobile gamers, the Ace 7 Pro is the more interesting of the two, with periscope zoom and the top-end chip. For everyone else, the standard Ace 7 keeps the same battery, display and main camera.
The trade-off is size and weight. A 9,000mAh battery does not come free, and both phones weigh over 215 grams depending on the finish.
