In a groundbreaking move, Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama, is set to become India’s first AI-powered Vedic city. The Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Delhi-based Arahas Technologies to implement AI-based solutions across various aspects of city management, including traffic management, waste management, public safety, energy optimization, e-governance, and healthcare.
The project aims to leverage AI to enhance the city’s infrastructure, sustainability, and overall quality of life, while preserving its rich Vedic heritage. AI will be used to analyze ancient texts and architectural designs, ensuring that the city’s development aligns with its Vedic roots.
“This is a landmark project that will transform Ayodhya into a smart and sustainable city,” said Nripendra Mishra, Chief Executive Officer of the ADA. “AI will play a crucial role in optimizing our resources, improving public services, and enhancing the overall experience for our citizens and visitors.”
The project is expected to be completed in phases, with the first phase focusing on traffic management and waste management. AI-powered cameras and sensors will be installed to monitor traffic flow and identify congestion points. AI algorithms will then be used to optimize traffic signals and suggest alternative routes to drivers.
In the realm of waste management, AI will be used to identify and track waste collection vehicles, optimize routes, and ensure timely collection. AI-powered bins will also be installed to monitor waste levels and generate alerts when they need to be emptied.
The project is also expected to have a significant impact on public safety. AI-powered surveillance systems will be deployed to monitor public spaces, identify potential threats, and alert security personnel. AI will also be used to analyze crime data and identify patterns to prevent future incidents.
