Mahindra has given its workhorse SUV a festive-season makeover. The company launched the 2026 Bolero Bold Edition yesterday, an accessory pack that dresses the familiar box-shaped SUV in bronze detailing, black leatherette seats and a long-awaited rear-view camera. The catch: it is not a new variant at all, but a dealer-level accessories package that sits on top of the regular Bolero range, and Mahindra has not announced what the pack will cost.
The launch comes at a good time for the Bolero. The SUV registered 9,344 units in September 2026, making it one of Mahindra’s best-selling nameplates, and the Bold Edition is clearly aimed at buyers shopping for a car in the festive season. The company had also offered a Bold edition on the Bolero last year, so this is a familiar formula with a fresh coat of bronze.
What the Bold Edition adds on the outside
The bronze theme runs across the exterior. Bronze inserts highlight the vertical grille slats, with matching detailing around the lower bumper intake and on the fog-lamp surrounds. The side profile gets bronze mirror appliques, bronze-accented door cladding and roof rails finished in the same shade. Multi-spoke alloy wheels also carry a bronze finish.
Everything else is classic Bolero. The upright proportions, rectangular headlamps, boxy silhouette and tall stance are unchanged, which is probably the point. The Bolero’s customers, especially in rural and semi-urban markets, buy it for its rugged, no-nonsense character, and the Bold Edition dresses that character up without touching the shape that people recognise.
Cabin gets black leatherette and a rear camera
Inside, the seats are finished in black leatherette with bronze accents. Contrasting trim runs around the seat edges and headrests, and the front backrests carry Bolero lettering. Edition-specific floor mats complete the look, while the existing beige cabin trim stays as before.
The headline feature is the rear-view camera, which ships with coloured guidelines to assist while reversing. For a vehicle that still sells to family buyers and commercial users alike, a factory-style rear camera is a genuinely useful addition rather than just a cosmetic one.

No changes under the bonnet
Mechanically, nothing changes. The Bolero continues with its 1,493cc three-cylinder mHawk75 diesel engine producing 75 bhp at 3,600 rpm and 210 Nm of torque between 1,600 and 2,200 rpm. Power goes to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox, and that is the only transmission on offer.
The Bolero’s appeal was never about speed. It is a body-on-frame, rear-wheel-drive SUV built for bad roads, heavy loads and low running costs, and the Bold Edition keeps all of that exactly as it was.
Price: the question Mahindra has not answered yet
Mahindra has not revealed what the Bold Edition package will cost or which variants are eligible. As a reference, the standard Bolero range runs from Rs 8.49 lakh for the B4 to Rs 9.99 lakh for the B8 (ex-showroom), with the B6 at Rs 9.29 lakh and the B6(O) at Rs 9.69 lakh.
That means buyers will need to ask their dealer two things: which variant the Bold pack can be fitted on, and what it adds to the on-road price. If you are already booked on a Bolero, ask whether the pack can be added to your existing order rather than starting over.
Should you buy it
- If you like the bronze look and want the rear camera and leatherette seats, the Bold Edition is a convenient bundle instead of buying accessories separately.
- If the pack price turns out to be steep, the same money could go towards the top-spec B8, which gets the better equipment list.
- Do not expect any mechanical or efficiency advantage. This is a styling pack, nothing more.
- Always confirm the final on-road cost in writing, since dealer-fitted packs are sometimes priced differently from city to city.
