2026 Audi Q3 Launched in India at Rs 51.99 Lakh: Price, Specs

Audi India has officially launched the all-new, third-generation Q3 in the country at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 51.99 lakh. The entry-luxury SUV will be assembled locally at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India (SAVWIPL) plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, and it sits at the heart of Audi’s plan to claw back share in India’s fast-growing luxury car market.

The launch comes at a crucial time for the German carmaker. Audi has lost ground to its rivals, and the new Q3 is its most important volume model, taking on the BMW X1 and the Mercedes-Benz GLA.

Price, positioning and what it costs to own

At Rs 51.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Q3 undercuts some rivals on headline price while coming loaded with equipment that usually costs extra. Local CKD assembly is the key to that pricing, and it should also keep waiting periods manageable compared with fully imported models.

The standard quattro all-wheel drive is the Q3’s trump card. Most entry-luxury crossovers in India ship with front-wheel drive, so Audi making quattro standard gives it a genuine talking point in showrooms.

Engine and performance

Under the bonnet sits a 2.0-litre TFSI direct-injection turbo-petrol engine producing 204 hp and 320 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and the quattro all-wheel-drive system as standard.

  • Power: 204 hp (150 kW) from a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine
  • Torque: 320 Nm
  • 0 to 100 kmph: 7.1 seconds
  • Top speed: 229 kmph
  • Drivetrain: quattro all-wheel drive, standard

Those numbers make it one of the quicker cars in its class, and the all-wheel-drive layout should give it an edge on wet highways and hill roads, where many front-wheel-drive rivals start to feel out of their depth.

Design and standout tech

The new Q3 looks sharper and more grown-up than the car it replaces, but the real story is the technology. Audi has fitted Digital Matrix LED headlights with 25,600 micro-LEDs, four selectable daytime-running-light signatures and three dynamic light sequences. At the rear, the LED lights are joined by illuminated Audi rings, a first for the model.

Inside, the digital cockpit pairs a 30.22-cm Audi Virtual Cockpit with a 32.51-cm MMI touchscreen, and a head-up display projects key driving information into the driver’s line of sight. On the safety front, the SUV gets nine airbags, adaptive cruise control, front emergency brake assist and a driver-attention and fatigue monitor.

Size, colours and cabin

The Q3 measures 4,531 mm in length, 1,859 mm in width and 1,601 mm in height, with a 2,681-mm wheelbase and 488 litres of boot space. That puts it squarely in the middle of the entry-luxury SUV pack: roomy enough for a family of four, compact enough for city use.

Buyers can pick from five exterior colours: Sage Green, Mythos Black, Glacier White, Navarra Blue and Tambora Grey. Two interior themes are on offer, Tamarind Brown and Pergament Beige, both of which should suit Indian tastes for lighter, airier cabins.

Why this launch matters for Audi India

Balbir Singh Dhillon, Brand Director of Audi India, has set an ambitious target: double the brand’s share of India’s luxury car market from 7.5% to over 15% in the next three to five years. The Q3 is the opening move in a fresh product offensive, with the new A5 sedan arriving next and the range-topping Q9 SUV to follow.

Audi is also betting on its dealer network and repeat buyers. The company runs 28 new-car showrooms, 27 pre-owned outlets and 41 workshops, and plans to take new-car showrooms to 40 by the end of 2027 and past 50 by 2030, pushing deeper into tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Dhillon noted that one in every three Audis sold in India goes to an existing customer.

He was candid about 2026 being a flat year for volumes, with models like the A4 reaching the end of their lifecycle. From next year, the aim is double-digit growth, and the new Q3 will do much of the heavy lifting.

Should you consider it?

If your shortlist includes the BMW X1 or the Mercedes-Benz GLA, the new Q3 deserves a test drive. Standard all-wheel drive, genuinely advanced lighting tech and a well-resolved cabin make it more than just a badge alternative.
